The Doors We Close
In a world full of magic, repairwoman Flora discovers a map leading to the Juncture: an ancient tree that grants the ability to change a past decision. Pursued by the King’s Army and facing a journey through an enchanted forest, Flora teams up with the magical Aldus to make it to the tree unscathed. But the Juncture can only grant its magic to one person every thousand years – and Flora and Aldus aren’t the only ones after it. As opposing forces race through the forest, they must all wrestle how our biggest regrets affect who we become, and what it really means to reopen the doors we close.
The Doors We Close was developed through the American Musical Theatre Project at Northwestern University, with a public workshop in March 2022 directed by Jenna Sage.
